Zoom Common Questions
+ How do I launch Zoom and participate in the sessions? Under each session you’ve registered for in the hub, the Zoom link is available. You will also receive an email reminder one hour before each session you’ve registered for that contains a link to the hub detail page for that session. Click this link, then the zoom link on the session page to join the meeting at the scheduled time. Note: Closing any applications you don't need for the meeting with improve the quality of your connection.
I live in Africa/Turkey/China (any country outside of the US) and many of the sessions are during the middle of the night.
We understand that women joining us are located all around the world. That's why we created the schedule the way we did! The idea is to look at all that is offered during your waking hours - there should be 6-8 hours of content available each day no matter what time zone you are in! Sessions will also be recorded so you can come back and view the session if you were unable to participate live. Please see the video below for more explanation of the schedule and how it is built to work for you.
How long will session recordings be available for?
Session recordings will be available in the hub forever, and will not expire. Enjoy!
How much does Gather cost?
The early bird registration fee for Gather 2021 is $35, through December 31. Starting January 1 the regular registration is $50. At either price we pray the weeklong community, teaching, resourcing, prayer, and fun is more than worth it but sign up early for the best deal!
What is the Gather event?
Gather is a five-day, web-based live event just for women ministering overseas! In this time of social distance and isolation, Gather is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to connect safely with women ministering in all parts of the world and to experience community, teaching, resourcing, prayer, fun, and so much more. Who can attend?
All women working cross-culturally are welcome! While Thrive is a Colorado-based ministry and Gather has been crafted with North American women serving overseas in mind, so much of the content is applicable to all women serving outside of their home culture. All are welcome to experience the Father’s love and care. Also, Gather does not count toward Thrive's policy that states you may attend a Thrive retreat every five years. This event is separate from our retreats and won't affect your future
How do I register?
There are a few simple steps to register for this event! First, create an account for the Thrive hub, here. Once you've created a Thrive hub account, you need to register for the Gather event. Once you've registered for the Gather event within the hub, you'll see the event schedule and details. When sessions are open, you can register for the individual sessions you'd like to attend.
Can I pay for someone else's Gather registration?
Yes! Thank you for your generosity to gift the Gather event to a woman you know working cross-culturally! To pay for someone's registration, please visit https://hub.thriveministry.org/gift
What do I need to attend?
To attend, all you will need is a computer, tablet, or phone with access to the internet and a free Zoom account.* *Please create a free Zoom account using the same email address as you used to register for the Gather event.
When can I register for group sessions?
Registration for all group sessions is now open for those who have registered for Gather! To register for sessions: Visit https://hub.thriveministry.org/gathering-registrations Click on your Gather Registration. You will see a list of all available group sessions. Click "Sign Up Now" for each session you want to attend. You can see a list of all group sessions you have registered for under the "My Group Sessions" tab at the left of your hub dashboard.
When can I sign up for 1-on-1 appointments?
One-on-one appointment sign-ups will be available February 8th for those who have registered for Gather. These appointments will be available on a first come basis.
What security measures are you taking?
We will utilize Zoom for all sessions and one-on-one appointments. Our team has done extensive research on the security of Zoom, knowing how important this is for our participants! We will be taking all necessary precautions to offer the most secure experience, including limiting which global data centers Zoom can route through, utilizing the waiting room screening feature, monitoring the participants signed into the sessions, and ensuring each session has a host with full host controls. What if I can’t pay the full $35 registration fee?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are experiencing financial hardship and are unable to pay this fee, but would like to attend!
What if I can’t make it live? Will sessions be recorded?
Pending internet connection, video quality, and privacy concerns of the content shared, we will do our best to record every session for those who cannot participate live. When possible, session recordings and audio files will be made available in the Hub to registered event participants within the week of the event (pending staff time needed to edit and upload). How much of a time commitment is required? Do I need to attend every session?
We know you are busy with life, family, and ministry responsibilities - even more so in COVID-19! Gather is structured in a way that can work for you, your family, and even the most complicated schedules. There are over 45 hours of offerings at this event, and you could choose to attend them all or just one! No amount of time is required to attend. With a robust schedule of sessions each day of the week, you can create your own path, attending as many or as few sessions that would be most valu
What type of content and structure should I expect?
While the structure of each session will differ slightly based on the session type, sessions will be around one hour and will generally include an introduction from the facilitator, an opportunity for participants to introduce themselves, and 20-40 minutes of teaching from the facilitator followed by a time for attendees to ask questions and discuss the topic. Because women registering for this event are living in all parts of the world and all different time zones, we worked hard to consider the entire world and every time zone in it when building the event schedule! Does Gather count toward Thrive's policy of one retreat every five years?
No, Gather does not count toward Thrive's policy that states you may attend a Thrive retreat every five years. This event is separate from our retreats and won't affect your future retreat registrations. If it hasn't been five years since your last Thrive retreat, you are welcome to come, too! Also, if you attended a previous Gather event you are most definitely invited to attend the current Gather event as well! There will be all brand new sessions.

If someone gifted you, you should have gotten an email from us.
